A Story of Finding Hope through Spoken Word Poetr

  • Kathleen Syme Library and Community Centre 251 Faraday Street Carlton, VIC, 3053 Australia (map)
  • What does hope mean to you?

  • How do we find hope when we feel hurt, lost, and disappointed?

  • As young women, how could we best support ourselves and others when we fall and when there is this huge focus on us being a wonder woman?

There is no single answer to the questions above as we are all unique and powerful, particularly when we walk our own journey to bounce back and find hope.

About this workshop

In this workshop, our StoryArtist Hope Dolino shares her experience of being a young woman finding a means of self-expression and a sense of hope through spoken word poetry.

Through hearing her story in spoken word,

  • we will explore and discuss the notions of kindness, faith, resilience and their meaning in the pursuit of hope.

  • you will reconnect with your own and hear other women’s stories.

  • we will discover our shared inner strengths and embraceeach other's differences.

  • we will inspire each other's inner poet and write our own poetry!

Please bring along your sisters, best friends, mothers, daughters, any women who would enjoy a night of storytelling, spoken word, writing and who are passionate about supporting each other in the journey towards finding hope. There is nothing more powerful than women supporting women. Together, we are stronger.
